Florida Georgia Line is an excellent country duo who are taking the country realm by storm. Ever since they were kids Tyler Hubbard and Brian Kelley were songwriters and sang with their churches. They have very similar approaches to writing songs and the way they get their ideas for them. After they met each other they began to talk about how they were brought up. what inspires them in their songwriting process. they discovered that they were very similar in what inspired them and what they write about and why. Hubbard and Kelley are both conceptualist innovators. because they get ideas for songs and sit down and write them. Although they make a few changes they stick with their original songs and are done.

In an interview done in June of 2016 Tyler Hubbard and Brian. Kelley talked about how when writing their first song together, “Cruise”, they sat down and wrote it in a few hours. In the interview, Brian said that although the original was different. then the song we now know they sit down and write the song they want to hear. Tyler and Brian then go on to talk about how their songs are written to reflect on their lives. so that their fans get to know more about them. When they sit down to write their songs they write them. that way their audience can see what it is like from their life experiences and what they have been through. This certain way that Florida Georgia Line goes about writing their songs would make them by definition conceptualists. because Brian Kelley says they sit down and write their songs to reflect them. most of the time they are done. Another song that Hubbard and Kelley talk about in the previously mentioned interview. is one of their songs called “Sun Daze”, this song was written in about thirty minutes on their tour bus. this is an example of conceptual innovation because they just sat down and wrote the song. they did not write other drafts or lyrics they just wrote the song that came to mind and was finished.
In a podcast written by Malcolm Gladwell, Hallelujah, Gladwell gives us the definition of a conceptualist innovator. such as Florida Georgia Line. He describes a conceptualist as someone who sits down. does their work and then are happy with the immediate results. He says that a conceptualist is someone who does their work once they get an idea and then are done with it. Once they have it done they are pleased with it and are proud to claim it as their own finished work. This is the way in which I believe that Gladwell would categorize Florida Georgia Line. Although they change some lyrics here and there in their songwriting process. they are mostly pleased with the results they get when they first write their songs. Since Hubbard and Kelley can sit down with their band and write a song in thirty minutes. that they feel can be a big hit, and then have it be a success it shows that as conceptual artists they really do thrive. Although they do work on their songs a little bit here and there after the original writing process. they are still considered to be conceptual innovators. Also, most of their songs are their own but Florida Georgia Line has a motto where better is better. which is said by Brian Kelley in the interview mentioned earlier in this essay. With the examples that Gladwell uses in his podcast, it is clear that he would label both Tyler Hubbard and Brian Kelley as conceptualists.
It is very clear that according to Malcolm Gladwell’s podcast Hallelujah, Florida Georgia Line are unquestionably conceptual innovators. because of the way they can sit down and write a song, and be pleased with the outcome. Florida Georgia Line’s music is an inspiration and way of life to many American people. it is an amazing fact that it is all because a couple of guys can sit down and write music that people can relate to and really enjoy. In conclusion Tyler Hubbard and Brian Kelly’s conceptual innovating ways. they have led them to many great songs anxiously worked in their band’s success
